Job Summary:
The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Research Nurse to assist with both industry and investigator-initiated clinical research protocols. The research nurse will work closely with and provide support for Principal Investigators and the Perinatal Research Core program manager. The position will be based at the Anschutz Medical Campus and may require some travel between these hospitals and to other medical sites in Denver.
Principal Clinical Science Professionals perform clinical research related functions which may include patient- oriented research or research conducted with human subjects. Patient-oriented research includes mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical trials, or development of new technologies. Principal Clinical Science Professionals may also assist with epidemiologic and behavioral studies and/or outcomes research and health services research. Principal Clinical Science Professionals either act as work/team leads for 2 or more FTE Professionals, operate as Clinical Research Nurses (RN), or are the subject matter experts (SME) in a particular area. SMEs possess a deep knowledge and oversight of a specific process, function and/or technology. SMEs are considered an authority in the area and are educated on the subject and are also able to share their knowledge with other stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of OB-GYN and Pediatric clinical trials and studies
- Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities
- Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required
- Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures and other regulatory guidelines
- Schedule subject participation in research clinical trial, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., physician, , laboratory, radiology, pharmacy)
- Coordinate and administer patient care in compliance with protocol requirements
- Assist with developing or develop protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Case Report Forms (CRFs). Maintains subject level documentation and prepares documents, equipment and/or supplies

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years clinical research or relate experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) degree and two (2) additional years of experience will substitute for the BSN degree
- Current licensure as a registered nurse
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of clinical research or related experience
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)
- Ability to speak Spanish fluently and pass a medical interpreter exam
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information
- Skilled in project management in biomedical or public health research, such as development and enactment of study protocols, management of research databases, data quality control, statistical analysis, and development of charts and tables

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $64,594 - $82,164.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
