Position Summary:
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, locatedin Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of NewMexico-Gallup invites applications for a Lecturer II in Nursing to provideinstruction for a cohort of high school seniors interested in HealthCareers. We are one of four branchcommunity colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve approximately 2200students. Located in Gallup NM,approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the FourCorners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and Hopi Reservation. The city of Gallup has a population of 22,000and the surrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreationalactivities, various museums and extraordinary cultural vibrancy, whilemaintaining a small-town feel.
UNM-Gallup serves ahugely diverse student population with 100+ full time and part-time facultymembers. We are fully accredited by theHigher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor'sdegrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, and adult basiceducation (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichment courses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high schoolpopulations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High School and theCenter for Career and Technical Education.
It is an exciting timeto join our faculty as we are expanding our programs, engaging with ourcommunity, establishing multiple endowments and grant opportunities whilehiring a substantial cohort of new faculty. Lecturers atUNM-G have career advancement opportunities that are outlined in the UNMFaculty Handbook and faculty union collective bargaining agreement.
The successfulcandidate will be expected to teach a 4-5 course load, each semester, in thearea of Health Careers and/or Nursing, maintain an active service record (asdefined by the UA-UNM CBA), participate in monthly Division meetings andexecute other relevant duties as agreed upon in conjunction with the divisionchair in an annual faculty-chair agreement. In addition, the selected candidatewill be expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionthrough actively practicing inclusive behavior and proactively managing bias.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing, EMS/Paramedicine, Nutritional Sciences or other health related fields
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Experience teaching at the secondary level
- Demonstrate ability to work with groups in a collaborative atmosphere
